About

A clearer path from spending to freedom

deathmoney.fyi is a personal finance tool operated by Anchor Marianas LLC and built by Adam Pangelinan. The project helps people turn statement data into a ranked list of possible spending cuts, while keeping the calculator, milestone tracker, and biweekly snapshots available as supporting tools.

What the service does

The main workflow starts with transaction rows from a bank CSV or compatible pasted data. Ledger A calculates earn rate, burn rate, surplus, interest drag, net worth, and runway in the browser. The For You feed and optional AI spend coach use those results to rank possible cuts by estimated monthly dollar impact; recommendations remain estimates, not instructions or financial advice.

How the freedom numbers work

The liquid freedom number multiplies monthly spending by the number of months between the age and lifespan values you enter. The invested freedom number divides annual spending by 4%, using the familiar 4% withdrawal-rule calculation. Neither number predicts returns, inflation, taxes, lifespan, emergencies, or market conditions, so both should be treated as planning estimates.

Data and optional AI analysis

Calculator inputs, imported transactions, balances, milestones, and snapshots are stored in local browser storage. When you deliberately request optional AI analysis, a spending summary containing categories and amounts is sent to a third-party AI provider. The service also uses Vercel Analytics and PostHog as described in the privacy policy.

Access and ownership

The calculator is free while deathmoney.fyi is in beta. A $19 founding lifetime license is offered for access to everything the product becomes, while nothing is currently described as gated. The public source repository is available on GitHub, and questions can be directed through the contact page.
